Summer Training Course at the College of Pharmacy
Today, July 13, 2026, a comprehensive and practical training course commenced at the College of Pharmacy under the supervision of the esteemed Dean of the College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hunar Kamal Gardi. The course is titled: "COMMUNITY PHARMACY PRACTICE"
The course opened with welcoming remarks from
Asst. Prof. Dr. Hunar Kamal Gardi (Dean of the College of Pharmacy), Asst. Prof. Dr. Avin Nowzad Adham (Head of the Quality Assurance Unit), and Asst. Prof. Dr. Bashdar Mahmoud (Head of the College Activities Unit).
This training will run for two weeks and is specifically designed for fifth-year pharmacy students and recent graduates to enhance their skills and readiness for the labor market and community pharmacies.

The course covers 5 main and essential practical pillars:
1.Community Pharmacy Foundation: Principles of management, logistics, and professional standards in the pharmacy.
2.Dispensing & Prescription Verification: How to dispense medication, review medical prescriptions, and detect drug-drug interactions.
3. Patient Counseling & OTC Selection: The art of patient communication and selecting Over-The-Counter (OTC) medications.
4.Dermatology, Maternal & Infant Care: Providing consultations and managing skin conditions, as well as maternal and infant care.
5. Compounding & Real Clinical Cases: Gaining skills in compounding medications and handling real-world clinical cases.
