Workshop on Implementation of the Zanko System at the College of Nursing, Hawler Medical University
As part of its ongoing commitment to advancing academic quality and digital transformation in higher education, the College of Nursing, Hawler Medical University, successfully organized a specialized workshop entitled “Implementation of the Zanko System” on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025, at the College of Nursing premises.
This academic workshop was designed to strengthen the understanding and consistent application of the Bologna Process across public universities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, with a particular focus on optimizing the Zanko Learning Management System (LMS). The Zanko System, provided by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, serves as a key platform for enhancing educational management, transparency, and the overall learning experience for both educators and students.
The workshop was presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Dara Abdulla Al-Banna, who delivered a comprehensive and practical training session to faculty members. His presentation covered essential topics, including the structure and description of course modules, weekly academic planning, management of attendance and assessment records, and the process of entering effort marks and monitoring student performance. The sessions also included guided discussions that encouraged participants to reflect on challenges and propose strategies for more effective integration of the system within the Nursing and Midwifery BSc programs.
The event was graciously supported and attended by Assist. Prof. Dr. Vian Alnaqashbandi, whose active presence and academic guidance enriched the workshop’s discussions and underscored the College’s dedication to improving the quality and consistency of its educational processes under the Bologna framework.
