Scientific Symposium: GIS for Safer Environments, Stronger Public Health
The College of Health Sciences at Hawler Medical University held a scientific symposium entitled “GIS for Safer Environments, Stronger Public Health” on Monday, 4 May 2026, at Hawler Medical University Hall. The symposium highlighted the vital role of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in promoting environmental safety, strengthening public health practice, and supporting evidence-based decision-making. The event featured distinguished speakers: Dr. Kaiwan K. Fatah from Salahaddin University-Erbil, Dr. Rebin S. Abdullah from Erbil Polytechnic University, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Sangar Muhammad Ahmed, Head of the Public Health Department at Hawler Medical University.
