Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Bassam Karim Amin, the Assistant Dean, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hemin Mohsin Suleiman, and the Head of the Teaching Clinics Department, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hoshang Khalid, awards of appreciation were presented to the students.
A committee was formed to evaluate the students' cases in a scientific and professional manner.
The committee consisted of Assist. Prof. Dr. Hoshang Khalid, Assist. Prof. Dr. Dlyar Ahmed Baban(Department of Periodontics), Lecturer Dr. Dilman Najmaddin (Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery), and Lecturer Dr. Intisar Saadullah(Department of Conservative Dentistry).
The evaluation covered 7 groups of fifth-year students at the College of Dentistry.
The competition was held among the 7 student groups to highlight the students' professional capabilities and skills.
In this competition, each student presented one case from their clinic and group.
The presentations were based on scientific documentation, clinical reasoning, accurate assessment of the patient's condition, and appropriate treatment procedures conducted scientifically from start to finish.
Following a rigorous evaluation and examination of all students' work in the clinics by the evaluation committee, the cases of 3 students (out of the 7 groups) were selected as the best cases to serve as motivation for other students. The selection was based on sound scientific decision-making for the patient and the efficacy of the proposed treatment.
The College of Dentistry proudly records this success and expresses its appreciation for the efforts of the students and the guidance and support provided by the faculty members through this official activity.
In conclusion, the presenters of the 3 selected caseswere awarded certificates of appreciation and were recognized by the evaluation committee as having the best cases.
