Changes of states of matter:
Water is amazing because it can easily change its state of matter.
When you heat liquid water, like in a kettle, it gains energy and turns into an invisible gas called water vapor or steam. This change is called evaporation.
If you cool this water vapor down, it loses energy and changes back into liquid water that's condensation, which is why clouds form!
When you put liquid water in a freezer and cool it even more, it becomes solid ice. This is called freezing.
If you take the ice out and let it warm up, it changes back to liquid water through melting.
So, water constantly moves between being a solid (ice), a liquid (water), and a gas (vapor) depending on its temperature.
