Welcoming 1st Year Students
As part of the College of Pharmacy's ongoing commitment to supporting new students and facilitating their transition into university life, the college organized a Welcome Ceremony for first-year students at Hawler Medical University, held from 12 to 14 October 2026.
The program aimed to introduce first-year students to the academic environment, equip them with the skills needed for a successful start, and prepare them for the next stage of their academic and professional journey.
On the first day, Monday, 12 October 2026, students attended a session on time management and the importance of the subjects studied in the College of Pharmacy. This was followed by a session organized by the Student Committee on the significance of the student's role in university life.
On the second day, Tuesday, 13 October 2026, the program included guidance on registration and student affairs, presented by the Head of the Registration Department. Guest speaker Mr. Ahmed Jamal Khidhir then delivered a motivational session on resilience, emphasizing that challenges do not define a person; rather, one's response to them does. The day concluded with a session by the college leadership on how to become a successful individual.
On the final day, Wednesday, 14 October 2026, students received an introduction to university life, its opportunities, and its academic expectations. The program concluded with the Lab Coat Ceremony, attended by the college leadership, heads of departments, and faculty members. This meaningful milestone symbolized the students' entry into pharmacy education and their commitment to professional responsibility.
The welcome program conveyed an important message: a successful academic journey begins with orientation, communication, and a sense of belonging, alongside knowledge and professional values.
We congratulate our first-year students on beginning this journey, wish them every success, and extend our sincere thanks to all faculty members, speakers, and everyone who contributed to the success of this program.
