Ongoing Activity – Joint Brucellosis Biosurveillance Project

The Medical Research Center – Hawler Medical University is currently conducting a collaborative research project titled
“Biosurveillance – Brucellosis Project, Kurdistan Region, Iraq”**, together with several universities in the region.
The team is collecting and analysing samples from livestock and human populations in the Kurdistan Region, using molecular and serological methods. The study draws on recent evidence that Brucellosis remains a widespread zoonotic disease in the area.
Through this effort, the Centre aims to inform both veterinary and public-health strategies, enhance surveillance capacity, and promote One-Health collaboration across institutions.

We remain committed to advancing this impactful research for the benefit of both human and animal health.
