Optical Mark Recognition as a semi-robotic system has newly adopted by the Examination Committee

at the College of Medicine - HMU.

The College of Medicine has newly adopted Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) for the first time at Hawler Medical University. OMR technology is widely used in various educational organizations around the world. OMR enables the respondent to select an answer to a question by filling in a “bubble” or “mark” associated with an answer choice. It is an automated data input system through which marks are made on a specially printed paper form designated for a set of questions. The answer sheets are then scanned and converted into image files and read by the OMR reader.  The OMR then interprets the pattern of marks and sends the results to the computer for storage, analysis and reporting.
