According to the fifth edition of the Webometrics' transparent ranking of the top universities by Google Scholar Citations issued in December 2017, Hawler Medical University is ranked 4th in Iraq and Kurdistan with 2912 citations for the top 10 public profiles of the university staff excluding the first one.
